A "Must Read"! Ms. D'Alessandro's books are always filled with witty scenarios and dialog as well as heart warming scenes and this book is no exception to that rule. The Bride Thief is one of the best of Ms. D'Alessandro's books, perhaps the best or at least it's a tie between The Bride Thief and Whirlwind Wedding.
The Bride Thief won't disappoint Jacquie D'Alessandro fans it will only add weight to the conviction that Jacquie D'Alessandro is one of today's hot regency romance writers!
This is the first time I have ever written to a author. This is the first time I have read one of your books. I found this book funny, sexy and had a good read. This is only the second author that I ever wanted to write to, the other was LaVeryl Spencer, and your books are much like hers.
Yesterday when the night was closing upon me, I opened my copy of The Bride Thief and started to read...I was utterly HOOKED! This is the first book I read from you and to tell you the truth it's the first time I really LOVE a book. I haven't finished it yet but until now I just LOVE it. It is truely a wonderful read and I really have the sense of "being there". Thank you so much for bringing me so much pleasure in reading.
Well, you have done it again! The book was great! I could not let myself read the first Chapter to the sequel - I would die waiting (again) HA! HA! for November to get here.
Hi, I just wanted to email and say thank you. I have not read historicals in a long time (several years) as they had become stale to me. I picked up "The Bride Thief" on Monday because the back flap made it sound intriguing. I started it Tues night and finished it on Wed night. I couldn't put it down! It was wonderful. Funny, charming, romantic and more! Thanks for re-opening my eyes! I'll be going to buy your other books now. Please keep writing!
Just had to say thank-you for the last 2 weeks. Just finshed reading 3 of your books. (The Bride THIEF),(Whirlwind Wedding),(Red Roses Mean Love). I could not put them down. Looking forword to more. Adding you to my list of favorites.
I do not usually write because I am very busy but wanted to say thanks when I do get time I love a good read nothing is quite as enjoyable as sitting down with a pop (my addiction ) a quite house with good music in the background and a engrossing book one I can't wait to turn the page. Looking forward to your new book.
I bought a copy of your new book today. As soon as I got home, I immediately turned to the back of your book hoping for some news about Whirlwind Affair and to my utter delight there it was, a sneak peek. It was wonderful, I can't wait. I love a story in which the heroine is given a second chance at love. And to completely seal the deal, to have Robert feel, "At last." Thank you so much for this treat to savor until it arrives in bookstores. You see, Whirlwind Affair is the book I have been anticipating since I finished Whirlwind Wedding. But now onto The Bride Thief, I started it sort of halfheartedly especially after reading your sneak peek gift to readers. Well, I was hooked and I just finished it, with a big smile on my face. Each and every time you write a book you allow your readers to remember exactly how it feels to fall in love. I'm still smiling about Sammie and Eric's private running joke about the words that start with certain letters. Thank you for another incredible story to cherish.
Jacquie, I just started reading romance novels over the past year. My good friend got me hooked on Julie Garwood books. I have to say, I do love her writing. Unfortunately, I've read all her books. Because my friend works at a book store, she was able to get an early release copy of your book the Bride Thief. It was wonderful! I enjoyed reading it so much that when I finished, I felt sad. I just wanted the story to go on and on. It left me with such a feeling of warmth. It was funny, sexy, I got completely lost in it. What a great way to escape, and relax. Your writing makes you feel like your right there, feeling the same feelings as the characters. I was not bored one second. Of all the books I've read to date, it is my absolute favorite. I didn't realize you had other books until I look at your website. I ordered the Whirlwind Wedding and Red Roses Mean Love. I just finished reading the first chapter of Whirlwind Wedding on-line. I'm hooked.
I just wanted to tell you that I think you are extremely talented, and I can't wait to read the book your plugging at the end of the Bride Thief. I'm sorry I can't remember the title but, it definitely left me wanting more. When do you expect that book out? Thanks again for bringing
adventure and romance into my life with your wonderful writing. Who would have thought reading would be so fun.
Just finished reading the book, loved it. Reminded me of Kiss The Cook. Too bad the next one isn't till next year, will re-read the Cook and Wedding which is one of my favorite historicals. Write more!!!
Thank you for a wonderful laugh-out-loud story!! Please, please let me know when your next book will be available. I can't wait to read more!!
Oh...My...Gawd! I loved Naked! Hm...that sounds a little crude but oh well! That was by far one of the funniest books I have read. I started to read the Duets book this morning then during my lunch hour I got into Naked (again - hmm :) ). Hilarious! I laughed and laughed and laughed
and laughed. I sipped my ice tea then laughed some more. The opening alone was priceless with the ransacked cabin and the panties dangling on Bullwinkle's antlers. Pure genius. I knew I was in for a good read at that image! And I was not disappointed at all. Can I worship your writing talent from afar? Can you channel that kind of humor my way so my writing sparkles? Enh, maybe not - that could get me into a lot of trouble! Gasp - I don't want that kind of brou-ha-ha. Anywho - I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed Naked (again...hmm...) from start
to finish. I may just procrastinate in writing my synopsis (gak!) and go read NINE (yeah...not quite a hmm..) again. Thanks for the fabulous read even if my afternoon was pretty much shot
at work. Oops. :)
Within days it was in my hands and on a beach were I embarrassed myself and woke up my husband by laughing too loud while reading it. What a fun story. The images you created were so vivid that when shopping for a shower curtain yesterday, I started laughing again when I found one with clear stripes.
I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed Naked in New England. I can relate to the story in many ways b/c my husband and I are always a day late and a dollar short. I am a first time reader of yours. The story was everything you could ask for comedy, romance and I am a sucker for happy endings..I cried at the end! Keep writing.
I just finished Naked in New England this morning and was blown away. It was one of the most refreshingly humorous books I have ever read. I buy at least 3 or 4 romance novels a week, so I consider myself an expert. I just ordered Kiss the Cook from Amazon. Where did you ever get the idea for Killer? I could not wait to hear what would come out of his mouth next. I think he should be the hero of your next book!
I always could tell if I had a keeper because the story had to make me laugh or make me cry. Well, Naked in New England did both.
Just read "Naked in New England", and as a transplant (Penna. to Mass.), must tell you how much I enjoyed it. Great characters, terrific plot - I read it though in one sitting, honest.
I have never bothered to write an author before about her book. I just had to tell that I smiled and laughed my way through your book. I was hysterical over the potpourri fiasco and loved the raccoon. My husband thought I was nuts.
I just finished reading Naked in New England and I needed to email you to tell you how thoroughly I enjoyed it. I laughed, I cried...you just made me really happy that I had taken a few hours to get to know Lynne and Ryan. I'm a huge fan of romantic comedy and when it's done well, like your book, it just converts into pure magic. Thanks a gazillion for writing such a great book. I'm definitely a fan. Please continue writing contemporary romantic comedy and I'll keep buying them and laughing out loud!!
Fantastic from Beginning to End! Whirlwind Wedding kept me stuck like glue to my sofa for two days while I read this great new book from Jacquie D'Alessandro from cover to cover.
Austin Jamison, the hero in the book, starts out as a somewhat dark and stubborn guy with a family secret that's weighing heavily on him. It doesn't take Elizabeth Matthews, our heroine, long to start effecting Austin in ways he never thought possible.
This book has everything I look for and want in a romance novel. It has the romance, of course, but it also has mystery, a great deal of humor and a surprise ending. Some of the funniest stuff I have read in a long time is about the kittens whose names are hysterically Gadzooks, Egad, Balderdash, Damn It All, and Bloody Hell. Ms. D'Alessandro has a fantastic sense of humor and amused me continually through the entire story.
The twist of Elizabeth having the gift of sight is an interesting twist and was used cleverly in this story. I hope we can look forward to another book about Austin's brother, Robert.
Ms. D'Alessandro's last two books, Kiss the Cook a
contemporary romance and Red Roses Mean Love an historical romance, were
both excellent and highly recommended. Whirlwind Wedding is better yet
and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, a good mystery
plot and the added bonus of a good laugh out loud!
A cheerful and sunny book that will make you feel good!! Whirlwind Wedding is a light Regency romance in the style of Julia Quinn. This book is so easy and fun to read you will want to finish it in one day!
Elizabeth and Austin are wonderful together. Elizabeth is fun and has a devil may care attitude. Austin is a bit arrogant but very protective and very male. They are well supported with great secondary characters. The big misunderstanding, so typical in romance, is hardly present in this lovely book. The author threw in a secondary romance as well between the sister and the best friend of Austin which gives the book a nice extra.
For Regency romance lovers who enjoy a laugh out loud read with wonderful down to earth characters, Whirlwind Wedding is a must!
A keeper from the start! I fell in love with this book from begining to end. Jacquie D'Alessandro has produced another winner. She is a marvelous talent in the romance genre and I cannot wait to till the next one, write faster Jacquie!
I wanted to take a minute to tell you personally just how much I enjoyed this story. It was captivating and absolutely delightful. And very sensual! Gotta love that in a romance. I loved the little running joke between Austin and Elizabeth about the meaning of words. Very cute! And when she asked him if he was "beavered" I was lmao. I have to admit, I was more than annoyed with Austin when Elizabeth pushed him away. He was so quick to believe the worst in her. But it was understandable. Love was so new to him and he was so vulnerable. But I still wanted to smack him right upside the head! I'm a very happy reader right now, and a little sad, too. I miss Austin and Elizabeth. But I'm glad I ran all over the place hunting them down. I could go on and on...but I'll try to be concise and just say that I couldn't put the book down until I was done even though I didn't want it to be over. Thanks so much for the wonderful story!
Ok now you've done it. Your book finally came out and to say the least I couldn't put it down. I even woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it. If I wasn't so tired I would have gotten up and read it. To say the least IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finished it in two days and I work full time!
Now I know your going to get alot of requests but here it goes anyway. Would you ever consider doing stories on Robert, Carolyn and Miles and William. I know its a bit much to ask and your probably thinking (no way Charlie) but its your fault you write so well that I fell in love with all your characters. You are better then Julie Garwood. Don't ever change your style.
Good Regancy with a paranormal twist. I bought this book not really expecting very much and was very pleasantly surprise. The heroine is delightful and charming and the hero is great (somewhat dark, however, sensitive without being wimpy). It was great the way Ms D'Alessandro weaved in the paranormal element into the storyline (enhancing the story), unlike many other Regancy books I have read which really don't blend the paranormal element very well into the storyline. The secondary characters are also very entertaining. I hope there's a sequence. I would like to read Robert's story.
I laughed (a lot), I cried and I enjoyed. This is a light, fast romp of a story. From the first chapter where Murphy's Law takes over to the HEA the characters touch the emotions. Mel Gibson's hormones literally talk/sing to her and are a pip. I even enjoyed the fact that the hero, Chris, was an accountant. A nice change from the usual hero image. The dialogue was a hoot. Sample (no spoilers):
"Don't worry. You're in good hands. We'll have a lot of fun." She eyed him with clear suspicion. "Define fun." He laughed. "Trust me on this."
I don't know about you, but I'd have been running in the other direction. Mel is braver than me.
Nana, Mel's grandma, is a card. She says whatever she wants, whenever she wants. It only adds to the humor. She is, also, people smart. She helps when emotions are out of control and manages to make the most profound statements seem obvious. I really enjoyed her.
If you're looking for a laugh, characters that have values shining through, and a fast, fun read, go out and get "Kiss the Cook". You won't regret it, I don't. It's firmly on my keeper shelf.
Ok, Jacquie, when do we get the
Charming romance...The author of Red Roses Mean Love has written a great contemporary romance that readers will cherish. Melanie and Chris will charm your heart and make the reader smile. Highly recommended.
I just read Kiss the Cook yesterday. I couldn't put it down, I really enjoyed it. The page where Mel starts thinking about Indecent Proposal and how could she come up with a million dollars? was just hilarious. You write both humor and sadness so well.
I also reread Red Roses Mean Love last week. I love that book, and am really looking forward to your next historical. Have you ever given any thought to writing a prequel about Justin and Victoria? They seem like a fascinating couple. I cried several times while reading that book, you have the knack for just the right amount of sadness, not too much that makes it painful but just enough so when the hero does his groveling it is very gratifying. I found myself liking the character leads in both of your books very much, and that is so important to me in liking an authors work.
Thanks again for using your talent to provide such
I LOVED THAT BOOK! It was hilarious! I really enjoy your writing and will now be on the lookout for anything else you write. I originally ordered Red Roses Mean Love and Kiss the Cook for my sister, but now I believe I'll keep them and I'll have to order another set for her!
Thank you for being such a great writer!
I just wanted to write and tell you how much I enjoyed Kiss the Cook. I read it today and really loved it. The fast-moving pace, witty dialogue and fun characters made it a great read. I am very impressed that both your historical and contemporary books were so incredible.
Red Roses Mean Love
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! - I just finished it and am planning my re-read for a week or two (hoping my short term memory will do its usually poor job and I'll have forgotten alot) - Seriously, I bought the book on a whim because I received an e-mail from you (I think that's how I heard about it - that memory problem you know) and I am sooooo glad that I did. I hated putting it down so much that I decided not to! Hayley was so different from most "heroines" she was so open and trusting and Stephen - well he was just perfect wasn't he? The tea parties were precious, Aunt Olivia and company were a hoot and not to be pushy but I'm thinking maybe Gregory needs a book - what do you think? LOL - Anyway, just had to tell you how much I liked the book (can you tell?) and I'm looking forward to the next one
I finished reading your wonderful book Red Roses late last night, and I just want to tell you how much you made me happy by writing that wonderful book. I ordered the book from Amazon.com, because I was interested by the subject, and wow! I haven't enjoyed reading a book so much as yours recently. I cried several times, laughed a lot, and when I closed the book I was very happy and little sad because I had to say goodbye to Hayley and Stephen, and other wonderful characters. I live a hectic life in Tokyo, not much time at all for a romance, but your book made me very happy through Hayley's life. Thank you again Jacquie, please remember you have given one Japanese girl (26 yrs old, same age as beloved Hayley) few wonderful hours and made her very happy. I liked Hayley a lot, and I like you too.
I just finished reading Red Roses Mean Love and I had to write to tell you how much I enjoyed it. The hero/heroine were wonderful, and the secondary characters were absolutely delightful! I
must admit, by the latter part of the book I was trying to guess for myself just how many more ways there were to say Popple-whatever! It's a real 'feel good' book and one I thoroughly enjoyed. For a first book, you really did it right, and it appears that with a start like this you will have a very long and successful writing career. I look forward to reading more of your stories!
I just finished reading "Red Roses Mean Love" and my only complaint is that I couldn't go to sleep until I finished it. It was a 5 star read and one I will definitely read again and again. Please let your readers know whats up next. Thank you for sharing your talent with us,
I bought the book a few days before it was supposed to be out officially (gosh I love the speed with which some local bookstores stock their shelves) and I LOVED it!!! It was wonderful; please please please write more. My best friend is living in Poland for two years and I am going to get her a copy of her own (I supply her with books) because mine is on my keeper shelf.
I really enjoyed your new book. It was like a breath of fresh air. You remind me of early Julie Garwood, and Judith McNaught combined. Great combo. One of my favorite parts of your story was Hayley in her garden for quiet time. I have four children from 3- 13, and I also have my quiet time late at night reading or writing so I could relate to her feelings. It is wonderful to read of all the family and friends to support your career. Good luck. Write fast.
I just finished your wonderful book. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I always enjoy a book that adds humor to the story line. I took "roses" with me on vacation and couldn't put it down. I can't wait for your next one! Thank you for an enjoyable adventure.
Konnichiwa! I just finished reading your book about 5 minutes ago and I think it's one of the best historical romance books that I've read in a long time. I thought I'd let you know that. I also had to look up your website and check out if you had more books coming out soon. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to reading more of your books in the near future.
I should have been working today, as a matter of fact had some work my boss was waiting for. . .
but NOOOOOOOOOO, did I work? Instead I spent the day (except for the time I had to go food shopping) reading your book. Finished it as a matter of fact. And let me tell you. . . . it reminded me of reading Judith McNaught's earlier historicals. The way you coaxed the emotions out of Stephen was fantastic. Congratulations Jacquie on this book. I look forward to many more,
historicals and contemporaries.
I just finished your book and absolutely loved it! Hayley is such a real person. You know, someone I can relate to, with her problems and responsibilities.
I got to the sex scene, then couldn't put it down. I ended up reading right through to
the end! Completely messed up my morning and it's all Stephen and Hayley's fault! BTW, I loved how he proposed.
I just finish with you book Red Roses Mean Love, I found it was a very enjoyable book. I love the romance and the comedy in it. I laugh out loud trying to image all those big men having a tea party at a little table. I look forward to your next book.
For a first book I was very impressed. Your characters had character. Your decriptions of them had me comparing them to people I know. I really enjoyed this book. But reading it made me believe that you had written a book about Justin and Victoria that I had missed. They really are the best type of married friends to have. (the ones that know when to leave you alone and when
to interfere). Again, congratulations for a book well done, and for giving me a few hours of entertinment.
I just this minute got finished reading your new book Red Roses Mean Love and I found it just delightful and witty, I started it last night and found that I could not put it down and read into the night, and just finished it a minute ago.
I absolutely Love Red Roses Mean Love. It is one of the most refreshing new Romances I have read in a Long time. Keep up the good work and please don't ever fall into the writing 'Trends' that are so popular with (authors/publishers) today. Dare to be different! I love it
I wrote before to say how much I emjoyed your first book Red Roses Mean Love and inspite of myself I will repeat it again, IT WAS A GREAT BOOK, and KEEP THE GOOD STORIES COMING.
Your book 'Read Roses Mean Love' was great!!!! It's a five star and even more. Can't wait to read your next book.
I've just read it and completely loved it. Great Hero and Heroine and darling secondary characters. Loved Callie. What a great first book. Thank you and congratulations!
The book was wonderful. I enjoyed it very much. The characters were great. You're a marvelous writer.
I just finished reading your first and hopefully not last, book. I truly enjoyed it. I noticed that you have a contemporary novel coming out next. I hope that this was not you last regency. You did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. I look forward to reading future novels by you.
I just finished reading this wonderful romance - and it's going immediately to my keeper shelves! What a wonderful hero and heroine; they were both so believable and will be remembered long after the last page was turned. I laughed aloud at several situations during the book. Thank you every so much!
I just finished Red Roses Mean Love. It is a wonderful story masterfully told. Please write
faster, ala Barbara Cartland. I just know you'll be one of my favorite authors for years to come.
WONDERFUL BOOK...RIVETING AND DELIGHTFUL TO READ...EVERYTHING KATHY SAID ABOUT IT AND MORE...CANNOT WAIT FOR YOUR NEXT ONE.
I Just finished reading your new debut book. It was great! Can't wait until the next one comes out.
Well I read the book in one day and then reread it the next. Now let me tell you I have no time since I am finishing my Masters and work full time. I dropped everything to read it. You are simply marvelous. It made me laugh, it made me smile. You are going to be a great success. I will spread the word.
Well, I just finished it. I wanted so much to like it, after all I won a very pretty T-shirt and I never win anything on the web. Well, I didn't like it I loved your book. I laughed out loud and cried right along with your Hayley. With Hayley, you have created one of the most memorable romance characters. I myself am the oldest of a very large and unusual family and your writing certainly captured all the love and essence of a family. I look forward to any book you will write in the future. Thanks again for many hours of pleasure and of course a book that will find a spot on my keeper shelf.
I read it from cover to cover and loved it. It's a book that I can read over and over many times because it's so good. I congratulate you on a book well-written and hope you will have success on writing many others.
I just finished Red Roses Mean Love this morning and I loved everything about it except one thing....it read much too fast and I know I have to wait until spring to read Kiss the Cook. I loved your unique characters and hated to say good-bye to them. I have no fewer than 14 new paperbacks on my shelf, but had to run to the bookstore last week to get yours. I fully intended on saving it for an upcoming trip this next week, but I guess I have as much self control as
Stephen!! Any thoughts on continuing the story of Hayley and Stephen. I am so attached to the menagerie of characters in their story! Congratulations!
I just finished Red Roses and it was Wonderful. I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end.
Just a brief note to let you know how very much I enjoyed your premier book. Will anxiously await your new work. Thank you for the hours of enjoyment.
Just wanted to let you know that I bought your book over the weekend in a Waldenbooks (aisle end display) and am just past the first kiss. I-love- it! Your heroine is wonderful, but it's Stephen that really gets me. And what a perfect setting for such a cynical man. I can hardly wait to see what happens next!
Just wanted to let you know that I throughly enjoyed Red Roses Means Love. I hope you are planning on writing more historicals, for my sake, since those are the only ones I read.
