Doll and Shoe of the Month
I collect things. Lots of things. Stamps, Lladro, books, Hard Rock Cafe pins -- just to name a few. I also have a small doll collection and a large shoe collection, which I thought might be fun to share with you. I'll post a different doll and pair of shoes each month. If you collect dolls or shoes, I'd love to hear from you (although I've never met a woman who didn't like shoes!). This month's pair of shoes is by Emmanuel Ungaro. I know that if Ungaro had been around during the Regency era, my heroine from Not Quite A Gentleman, Lady Victoria Wexhall, would have owned these shoes. I chose them as this month's pair because I will be wearing them to the Avon and Harlequin parties in Reno, Nevada at the July RWA Conference. I was so excited to find these shoes as they match my dress perfectly. I'll post pictures after the conference.
My doll collection is like my shoe collection in that I only buy pieces that I fall completely in love with on first sight. This month's doll is one of my favorites. I knew the instant I saw her she was coming home with me, especially after I found out her name was Caroline, the name of one of my most loved secondary characters from Whirlwind Wedding and Whirlwind Affair. I found her in the San Francisco Music Box Shop in Atlanta, and she plays the song When You Wish Upon A Star.
